Today is the day the American War of Independence started. The United States of America was founded as a result of this war, which was also known as the American Revolution in history.
War with Great Britain
This 8-year war took place between Great Britain and 13 colonies in North America. France and England, the two powerful countries of the period, were in a colonial race on American soil and had to fight to protect their interests.
The British were trying to compensate their losses in the war by imposing heavy taxes on the American colonies. People were getting worn out and impoverished. Over time, the public began to borrow money from British businesses and many of them went bankrupt.

Protests started and 'Sons of Liberty' was established ...
In 1765, the taxes applied by the government to cover the expenses of its 10,000-strong army were protested. As a result of these protests, secret organizations called "Sons of Liberty" was established. The British government withdrew the stamp law after the organization said they would never accept taxes.
England was not aware of the impending rebellion
'Sons of Liberty' immediately said that they had full authority over the colonies. But Britain was unaware of the approaching rebellion and imposed new taxes on certain goods imported by the colonies, such as tea, paint, glass, and fabric. As a result, protests started again.
Boston Tea Party
On November 28, 1773, realizing that the British were bringing tea to Boston harbor by ship, the people flocked to the port of Boston in response to the tax on the tea. Incoming ships could neither evacuate nor exit without the governor's permission.

Thereupon, after 20 days, colonists took action. 100 people disguised and poured all the tea on the ship into the sea. This action was met with great reaction from the British government. This event, which took place on December 16, 1773, was called the Boston Tea Party.
An American congress was held with Washington and Franklin
An American congress was held on September 5, 1774, including George Washington and Benjamin Franklin. At the congress, they stated that the colonies' own decision-making powers and illegally imposed taxes would only be possible with the laws they prepared.
'Declaration of Independence' published on July 4th
With the uprising broke out in Massachusetts, the British government had ordered the removal of all ammunition from the rebels. The government sent 800 troops to the Concord area, but these sent troops were repulsed by the colonies.
In just 2 months, the American War of Independence had spread everywhere. After a short while, the second congress was held in Philadelphia on May 10, 1776. Finally, the parties agreed and published the 'Declaration of Independence' on July 4, 1776.
